Haiyang Nuclear Power Station is located in Haiyang City and is the first commercial nuclear power plant in Shandong Province. The project is planned with six 1-million-kilowatt-class generating units. It adopts third-generation nuclear power technology and is being constructed in three phases. The Phase I and Phase II units have been successively commissioned and are under operation/testing, while the Phase III units were approved in 2025. The power station serves both electricity generation and nuclear heating functions, with significant benefits in power supply and emission reduction.
